Our Goal

Applauding God was established in 2013 with the launch of my first book Chasing What Matters. In the book I observe that we all basically want the same thing at the end of our lfie – to have lived with such hope and purpose that as we look back on our journey, we’ll be able to say, “I’m glad I lived for that.”
Missionary William Carey once said, “I’m not afraid of failing; I’m afraid of succeeding at the wrong things.” Scripture tells us how to succeed at the right thing, “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31). This is the purpose of life, to delight in the greatness of God. Whether it be a glass of water or a hot shower, money for groceries or a vacation to the Grand Canyon, our satisfaction is maximized when we respond to every blessing by thanking and honoring God.
But more than that, our satisfaction grows deepest when we help others value the greatness of God and applaud Him for His goodness and grace in their lives. Scripture tells us, “Let your light shine before me in such a way that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” This is the ultimate motive for all ministry; God comforts us in our troubles so that we may comfort others in their troubles, with the same comfort we have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
Over the past four decades of teaching in the local church and traveling the world, I have seen countless individuals experience the joy of applauding God for the comfort they have received from people who have generously shared of their resources. It is the goal of Applauding God to continue connecting people of resource with people of need. Listed below are several ministries that spread the hope of Jesus with great impact.
